M35, OPEN CLUSTER and NGC2158 on 2024-10-26,28
Messier 35 or M35, also known as NGC2168 is an open star cluster in the constellation of Gemini. It is scattered over part of the sky almost the size of the full moon and is 2,970 light-years away from the Earth. Also, in this picture is the compact open cluster NGC2158. It is located to the upper left of M35. NGC2158 is farther away than M35, located at about 12,000 light-years away from us.
This photo was taken in Kyle, Texas through a 6-inch f/4 Telescope, on a Sky-Watcher EQ6-R mount, with a ZWO ASI533MC PRO color camera plus an Optolong L Pro Light Pollution Filter. The processing was done in PixInsight. The total image acquisition time is: 2 hours 32 minutes 00 Seconds.
