NGC7822 is an emission nebula about 3000 light-years from the Earth, and located near the edge of a large molecular cloud in the constellation Cepheus. It is the birthplace of many new stars. Strong stellar winds from the new stars and their radiation shape the surrounding gas and cause it to glow.
