NGC891 on 2020-10-15

This photo was done in my backyard in Kyle, Texas through my 17.5 inch f/4.5, AZ/ALT, computer controlled telescope I built, using a ZWO ASI533MC PRO color camera.

NGC891 (Also known as Caldwell 23 and THE SILVER SLIVER GALAXY) is an edge-on unbarred spiral galaxy about 30 million light-years away in the constellation Andromeda. NGC891 looks as the Milky Way would look when viewed edge-on. Some astronomers have even noted how similar to NGC891 our galaxy looks as seen from the Southern Hemisphere. Both galaxies are considered to be very similar in terms of luminosity and size.
